Michael Wertz

Michael Wertz - Director/Writer
In 1998, Michael Wertz moved from Los Angeles back to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife and three young children. He also brought with him over twelve years of feature film experience as a freelance editor. As a member of the Editors Guild, Mike worked within the studio system where he guided several motion pictures through the post-production process gaining valuable project management, technical, and creative experience in the process. He has worked closely with award-winning directors such as Tim Robbins and Wes Craven, as well as Oscar-winning editors Jerry Greenberg (The French Connection) and Richard Halsey (Rocky). Today, Mike's diverse background serves him well as the principal owner of Apple Box Studios where he delivers the same high creative standards he learned in the feature film.

Adam Stevenson

Adam Stevenson - Cinematographer/Director of Photography
Adam has been working in the film industry, locally and around the world, for the past 18 years, including over 45 feature films. He is an accomplished and sought-after cinematographer, camera operator and lighting director. His extensive experience also includes numerous commercial shoots, documentaries, industrials and historical projects. Commercial clients include: The Discovery Channel, National Geographic, HGTV, CMT, Fox, Comedy Central, CBS, NBC, HBO, PBS, UPMC, Highmark, Ford, Toyota, Wendy s, Gatorade, ANSYS, US Steel, Westinghouse, Dick s Sporting Goods, Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.

Thad Ciechanowski

Thad Ciechanowski - Editor/Motion Graphics Artist
Thad has edited professionally and created motion graphics in the Pittsburgh area since 1999. His speed, creative instincts, graphics capabilities and technical expertise offer tremendous value to the clients he serves and makes Apple Box Studios a versatile post-production facility. Thad's background holds a broad range of creative experience in both production and post-production environments extending to television commercials, short films, museum exhibits, documentaries, historical programs, long and short-form corporate videos, and long and short-form television. He has won several awards for his work including several Tellys and an Emmy® nomination for short-form editing.

Michael Wiegand

Michael Wiegand - Production Manager
Before joining Apple Box Studios, Michael Wiegand was a freelance producer developing numerous video, film and interactive projects for Pittsburgh area clients. He has also worked at MARC USA, Highmark, Think, Inc., and Arnold Worldwide in Washington, D.C. Wiegand is a graduate of Duquesne University and holds a Master of Science degree in Media Arts and Technology.

Pamela Gerlowski

Pamela Gerlowski - Production Coordinator
Pamela is a graduate of Duquesne University, where she double majored in Integrated Marketing Communications, and Sociology. She works closely with our Production Team and talent, and handles all scheduling, both pre- and post-production, casting, talent acquisition, and shoot planning.
